To continue the World Book Day celebrations into the weekend, we’ve lined up a bumper day of drop in activities, along with this opportunity to see the fanstatic Kate Wakeling – Poet extraordinaire – in action. Kate will join us for an hour, performing some of her poems and helping you to create your own.
Kate Wakeling has published poems for children and grown ups, her first collection for children Moon Juice won the prestigious CLiPPA Prize in 2017 and was nominated for the 2018 Carnegie Medal. Kate second collection for children, Cloud Soup came out in 2021 and was Book of the Month in the Guardian and the Scotsman. Both books feature illustrations by the talented El?na Brasli?a and are published by Birmingham based The Emma Press.
Tickets are free but booking is essential.
Copies of Kates children’s collections will be available to buy at the event and Kate will be on hand to sign them for you.
