If you’re looking for some creative inspiration for your toddlers then here it is:
Art club for 2-5 year olds (younger siblings welcome) we’re running a trial Art Club for the younger kids, for 3 weeks in October, details are:

– Tuesdays 1:15- 2:15 pm at How brave is the wren
– 1st / 8th /15th October
– £7.50 per child (baby siblings free)

The sessions will focus on Art as a way to play and explore, the sort of stuff you want to do at home with your children, but without the setup and mess, we’ll create a playful space where young artists can explore and create inspired by a selection of short films which will be played during the session. Expect – light, colour, sculpture, sound, movement, texture, fun.

Individual session details:
1st October:
Wearable sculptures: Using materials to create sculptural footwear, Can our shoes become a musical instrument?
FILM: Down to Earth.
MATERIALS: Cardboard, sticks, foot covers, tape, fabric, pens, balloons rice, lentils, velcro.bells.

8th October:
Object Collage: Exploring colour and shape through plastic objects and coloured cards. We will create a selection of 3d collages to be photographed. Printed and worked over again.
FILM: Orgianti Hyper plastic
MATERIALS: plastic objects of varying colour and size, coloured card, anglepoise light, camera/smartphone.

15th October:
Colour/ Light: Explore light, colour, overlay. Create artworks/puppets that can move/dance
to sound.
FILM:Rainbow dance.
MATERIALS: OHP projector, Light box, coloured vinyl, torches, sticks, black card. scissors , glue, tape. Materials to make sculptures for Shadow play. (hoops, tubes, balls, tape)

Each session can be booked individually.

These workshops will take place at How Brave Is The Wren children’s bookshop, by Sarah Hamilton Baker. Sarah is a Birmingham based artist specialising in performance, sensory exploration, food and facilitation. Her imaginative environments foster exploration and spark imaginations. She is a studio holder at Grand Union and an Honorary Associate of the University of Birmingham.
