“I want to be able to call the sharks. Teach me the magic and show me the ways”
Blue Wing longs to be a shark caller, to follow in the footsteps of her Waspapi her guardian Siringen, who has looked after her ever since her own parents no longer could. But tradition dictates that she can’t and what’s worse is that she’s been landed with the unexpected task of having to look after Maple a reluctant visitor to the island. The girls, landed together, find it hard to get past their individual anger at first, but once they discover some common ground, they start to share their secrets and when the time comes, they have to rely on each other to fight the strongest shark of them all.
Set on the shores of Papau New Guinea this is a brilliant story of friendship, love, grief and acceptance.
