About Steady For This
Shaun (aka MC Growls) is ready to drop his best bars and smash the competition at Raptology. That way, he’s convinced Tanisha will finally give him a chance. But when a livestream practice goes epically wrong,
Growls’s dirty laundry is literally exposed. He’s finally achieved his dreams of going viral – not in the good way. Now Tanisha won’t look at him, he’s the joke of the school and there’s no way he can show his face at the competition. Will he ever catch a break?

MC Growls, wannabe rapper is the star of the show in this hilarious and heartwarming teen debut book.

About Nathanael Lessore

Nathanael Lessore was born in Camberwell, South East London, as one of eight children to French and Madagascan parents. Although he spent most of his life in Peckham, Nathanael has also lived in Paris, Strasbourg and Singapore. Nathanael can run 100 metres in under 10 minutes and he likes that Taylor Swift writes catchy songs that get stuck in his head all day. STEADY FOR THIS is his debut and writing it gave him the opportunity to show his South East London childhood as the funny, warm, adventurous world that wasn’t always represented as such. His latest book King of Nothing is a heartwarming comedy touching on toxic masculinity and celebrating boyhood.

This event is part of ‘The Heath Bookshop Literature and Music Festival‘ which is supported using public funding by National Lottery through Arts Council England. Click here for the full festival programme.
